After hearing about the work of Valley Youth House today in class I am reminded just how important it is that our community – with your class setting a great example – be there for troubled and abused teens right in our midst.

Thanks for the encouragement, Trish. Last year’s class also chose this organization and we were very happy to be involved with their work. Each year I let the kids themselves select the charity they want to support, and to my surprise they chose Valley Youth House again. I think the students like knowing they are helping other kids with real needs, some actually in our district.

Hello…my name is Trish and I wanted to leave a quick comment about your choice of chartiy. I used to work as a couselor at Valley Youth House (I currently work in the Parkland district for the Title 1 program). I know first hand how valuable the VYH program can be for the youth and families in our community. It provides vital services at critical times in the lives our children. Great choice…know that your decision is helping to shape the lives of our youth, contributing to their success as adults

Hannah’s singing on this track is absolutely gorgeous! So was Nich’s setting, but sometimes choosing the right artist(s) for a project is as important a creative task as anything else.

I’m really hoping Nich will follow up with a post featuring Morgan’s unique contribution to the track
