SOLD OUT!

16 12 2011

At last evening’s PHS Band/Chorus Concert we sold our last 30 or so CDs and currently have no inventory left!  However, today we put in one last “emergency” order to the duplicator: sometime Tuesday we should be getting 40 more CDs and THAT will be it.

If you’ve thought about getting this disk but still haven’t, don’t wait longer than early next week.  Stop by the Music Tech lab (A120) and see Dr. Watson.  Maybe this video of Andrew singing his original song, THE MEANING LEFT BEHIND, from the “Season for Giving (2011)” CD will win you over and move you to buy the CD!

THE MEANING LEFT BEHIND

Still not convinced? How about this clip of Principal Dr. Lessel and PHS teacher Mr. Schwartz singing their track from the CD, “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer”?

Get to Know the Artists

20 11 2009
Erin Kelly, vocalist

Erin Kelly, vocalist

In coming blog posts, we plan to introduce you to some of the artists on this year’s Parkland: A Season for Giving holiday CD. Erin Kelly, vocalist on “Christmas Mission,” stopped by the A120 lab this a.m. to pick up a practice CD so I took the opportunity to grab a pic with Photo Booth.

Erin is small in stature but has a great, big voice! She sings a lot outside of school (Hershey Bears games, Dream Kids charity events) and did a great job with vocals for the CD.  The official “launch” of the CD is Dec. 2 at the a.m. Coffee House in the auditorium lobby. We’ll be having many of our artists perform their tracks, LIVE, at the Coffee House….including Erin.

Look for Erin in the halls and say “hi” and DEFINITELY come to the Coffee House on December 2 to meet her and hear her sing.

Morgan Stops by the Lab

13 11 2009

We were so thrilled to have Morgan Reed, our art designer, stop by the A120 Music Tech lab on Friday a.m. We love her design for the CD and are pleased to be able to show her where we produced the music for it. We shared a track or two from the upcoming CD with her.

What Time Is It? Christmas Time!

Ryan, Ben, and Andrew

Ryan, Ben, and Andrew

Senior, Andrew Kurtz, has been working on an original vocal harmony tune called “Christmas Time,” for the upcoming CD.

Today in an after school recording session he and his other two vocalists – Ryan McCarty and Ben Mays – laid down their tracks. The initial, “raw,” tracks sound very promising. This comes as no surprise since all three are stand out singers in our school choirs (Concert Choir, Chorale) and musical theater, as well as PMEA Events (Districts, Regionals, State).

We can’t wait to hear the piece when Andrew’s finished mixing and adding any DSP effects (reverb, etc.).
